I’d like to extend to you a very warm welcome to The Ponds High School’s new website. This has been an exciting period of firsts for us. First students, first staff appointed, timetable, assembly, P&C meeting, in fact first everything!
It is an interesting and challenging experience, bringing a diverse range of teachers and students into a beautiful new school with no resources. We have worked hard together to make a dynamic learning community, committed to providing a rich, safe and enjoyable educational environment. The leadership structure both for students and teachers is supportive and yet is designed so that everyone can and must contribute to the school in a positive way.
It is exciting that we have a diverse and harmonious multicultural population and I was very proud of the representation at the centenary on ANZAC celebration to see such a variety of nationalities honouring those who have helped forge the ANZAC spirit of mateship, heroism, endurance and courage.
The Ponds High School offers a comprehensive curriculum and students are already engaged in active cultural and extra curricula activities. Many clubs are offered for students and the Environmental Warriors team is already on the way to making a specific garden area to broaden student experiences inside and out of the classroom.
Our very broad curriculum provides unique opportunities for all students to engage in a diverse learning experience. Support is provided for GATS students and students with individual needs. Homework clubs are run for students requiring assistance with assignments and a specific Maths homework club is run after school for students wanting numeracy assistance.
The parent body has formed a committed group of parents interested in all aspects of the school and regular P&C meetings are held. These are designed to allow parents to increase their understanding of the curriculum offered to students.
Contained on this website you will find information on all aspects of the school. The information will be expanding all the time as new experiences and policies are developed for the school.
